Telephone Call Recording

Website/Care Navigation – Message Regarding Telephone Call Recording
Given the sensitive nature of telephone calls to our services, we wish to make patients aware that all calls to Kintbury & Woolton Hill Surgery are recorded. This means that all incoming telephone calls from patients made with our GP practice are now recorded for legitimate reasons. For example, these may be for medico-legal purposes, audits, to improve our patient care or for staff training and monitoring purposes.

Recordings made as part of the patient’s care will, as such, form part of our patients’ medical records. They will be treated confidentially in the same way as all other medical records, being retained securely for up to a period of 6 months, by MPS, approved NHS supplier for telephony services. MPS is the data controller responsible for securely storing and deleting the telephone messages.

If a patient does not consent to their telephone conversation being recorded, for example if in doing so it may cause the patient harm, please advise our receptionists when contacting the practice.
